According to Eclectic Sole, many great Brazilian designers and shoemakers have not established a presence in Canada. Identifying Brazil as one of the most prominent shoe producers in the world, Eclectic Sole aims to bring Brazilian craftsmanship to the Canadian consumer. The concept was born in early 2021 in Ontario, where Jeff and Camila set out to engage Brazilian shoe designers and producers, offering them the opportunity to showcase their fine merchandise in Canada. They have brought together a diverse mix of designers and producers, to provide an "Eclectic" range of products from which to choose.
2H Media was approached to support Eclectic Sole in launching their new business. Our work involved developing their visual branding, creating a consistent library of small product and ecommerce photography, and building a brand new Shopify website. Throughout the project, our goal was to create a new brand that feels both professional and inspiring, a brand that would not look out of place next to other major fashion brands but would stand out from the crowd.
In developing the Eclectic Sole visual branding, we focused on strong black and white shades that allow the products to jump off the page. This approach is one of the top strategies for branding in the fashion industry for effectively presenting bold products. To lend the brand energy, we tastefully utilized eclectic and engaging colours in limited proportions. Sensible AODA compliant colour combinations and simplistic sans-serif fonts were combined to create a striking modern brand image.
To give Eclectic Sole the power of the best ecommerce platform out there, we relied on Shopify to act as the backbone of the website. We enhanced the design of the website with custom theming and key metafields to refine the user experience and bring the products to the forefront.
To best prepare Eclectic Sole for their launch, we photographed their full product catalogue from all angles. In ecommerce, giving potential customers a full view of the product is essential to recreating the in-store experience. This is especially true for the fashion industry where customers are discerning about what they're willing to wear. We captured photography of every shoe and every bag against a white backdrop, free of distractions. Our clean approach to product photography lent itself to the refined look of the finished ecommerce website.
