I Love Chocolate! is a quaint small-town chocolate shop based out of Fergus, Ontario. All of their chocolate treats are hand crafted on site by their team of chocolate lovers from premium Belgian Chocolate. Each piece is crafted with love and care to be beautiful and delicious.
We collaborated with the I Love Chocolate! leadership to create a modernized mobile friendly website that reflects the history and local feel of their brand. Updated brand elements and a custom design system brought the I Love Chocolate! website into the modern age while celebrating the small-town values of the handcrafted Belgian chocolate shop.
Modern open-source typefaces were selected to optimize online display. Updated brand colours pulled inspiration from the existing storefront and product packaging to maintain a wholesome, classical feel. The brand voice speaks to the small-town local nature of the company. I Love Chocolate! has been proudly based in Fergus for over 25 years. The identity of the company embraces the history of the store and the historic nature of downtown Fergus.
Classic design motifs inspired by specialty chocolate packaging lend the website a warm and familiar feel. Modern web standards were prioritized with a bias towards pure CSS designs.
A robust design system paired with a drag and drop builder facilitates faster rapid prototyping and allows designers and copy writers to build web pages directly - without the need for repeated involvement from a senior developer.
